It uses an internal roller ball bearing to detect tilt, when tilted towards the built-in contact switch the ball bearing completes the circuit and the trigger is output.
Does not contain Mercury like our Mercury tilt switch, which can be an important consideration as many jurisdictions prohibit Mercury from being used (due to environmental concerns).
